This is the second chapter of A Paradise Called Portugal. The first, the Countryside Edition, slows time down among the vineyards of Ponte de Lima. This one lets time disappear entirely.

An Algarve few people know

There are no luxury hotels in these photographs. No beach clubs. No champagne. That was never the real luxury. True luxury is finding a beach where all you can hear is the sea.

We did not choose the Ria Formosa for its beauty alone. We chose it because it is one of the few places where nature still runs the show. The dunes shift. The tides redraw the landscape twice a day. Wood ages, boats carry stories, and the sand stays almost untouched. It is an Algarve few people know, and that is exactly why it belongs to Sofia Godinho.

A day lived, not a shoot

The campaign follows one whole day. Sunrise. Breakfast. The boat crossing. First swims. A simple lunch. A walk along the dunes. The wind. And then sunset, in that golden light the south is famous for.

There is no sequence of poses. There is a day lived. She walks into the water slowly and comes out slowly. She looks at the horizon, never at the lens. She is not performing. She is present.

The water is a character

The water is never just scenery here. It reflects the light. It moves the fabrics. It creates texture. It carries the jewellery. That is why so much of this capsule is made to get wet: if you plan to live in the sea, choose from our waterproof jewellery and let the salt do its work.

Pieces named after islands

The names come straight from the map. The Armona bikini and the Culatra bikini are named after the barrier islands of the Ria Formosa. The Fuseta bikini takes its name from the fishing village on the lagoon. And the Sea Glimmer necklace is exactly what it sounds like: light on water, worn on skin.
